Royton Road Runners
Royton Road Runners was formed in 2003 with 27 founder members. Just 10 runners braved a snowy February night for the very first club run from Royton Cricket Club. After the Amateur Athletics Association accepted us as an affiliated club on 18th July 2003, club colours were officially worn for the first time in that year's Tour of Tameside. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength, now boasting more than 150 members, thriving road race & RRR Cup competitions & a popular annual trail race.
On 3rd February 2013, to mark our 10th anniversary, members old & new assembled at Royton Cricket Club to recreate the original club run - this time without snow! The rest is history!
